SYNOPSIS

Set on a dying planet where the last remnants of humanity have been forced underground, 2048 follows Wesley, an ordinary worker who becomes entangled with a hidden resistance inside a vast subterranean society controlled by the Collective. As Wesley questions everything the Collective taught him and searches for the truth, he encounters Bryant (Anthony Hopkins), the brilliant and ruthless architect of the regime, a man who maintains power through surveillance, manipulation, and psychological terror. Two-time Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins reunites with director Timothy Woodward Jr. following their sci-fi horror film Eyes In The Trees. "The story is complex and fascinating: it taps into the mysterious contradictions hidden within human nature, our capacity for both extraordinary creative achievement and compassion, and the terrible mystery of cruelty," said Hopkins. Written by Sean Ryan, 2048 is produced by Natalie Burn through Born To Burn Films and Volodymyr Artemenko through Eastern Film Investment. Top Film Distribution Corporation is handling worldwide sales, launched at the 2026 TIFF market. Additional casting is underway, with production planned for Los Angeles.
